Crayons

I had to do a daunting task this week.....peel the paper off crayons, break them then melt them into crayon chunks.  I had found a large amount of broken crayons and well the recycler in me came out.  My fingers were definatly sore from all that peeling and I have what seems like a million more crayons to peel.  So I thought I'd motivate myself by taking some fun pictures of the process.  Enjoy looking at all the beautiful colors.

Book Cover

Has anyone every read the book called, "Secret Daughter?"  Well if so then you'll understand the cover I made for the book.  Yes I made my daughter look like a person from India.  She came up with that facial expression all on her own.....I think she was thinking, "Mom, when will you be done taking pictures of me?"

Winter Carnival

It was a Bee - Utifull Day! I was so thankful to spend the afternoon with my family at our local Winter Carnival filled with community and beautiful rays of sunshine.  I braved skating on the ice pond....no it didn't crack.....it was frozen solid.  Had my first taste of bannock cooked over a campfire and sprinkled with cinnimon......Yummy!  Despite all the wonderful activities my children found a simple hill to slide down for half an hour.  Way to go Quesnel for putting together a wonderful community event!  Looking forward to it next year......2013.

Darkness into Light

I was challenged to take an image that had to do with "Eyes." Well I like to be original and when I noticed other people posting pictures of animal eyes, adult eyes and children's eyes, I thought what can I do that's different. Then I remembered....the center of the flower has been called the eye. So I remembered a technique that was taught several months ago and decided might as well give it a go. Being that I don't have a tripod I made my camera stationary as this image was taken in the dark. How did I make the flowers glow......I guess you'll have to figure it out.

Words

You might wonder how I come up with the titles for my images.  Well to be honest it just pops in my head.  I sit and look at my photo....what does it makes me feel or what it says to me and the words appear.  I am so thankful to have photography as a way to express myself as I find it relaxing, theraputic and challenging.  I have always loved art and I'm so greatful for finding photography.
